County REACH HOME Program
- Attend orientation.
- Complete registration form and return to REACH.
- Obtain a tri-merged credit report.
- Determine how to pay for counseling fees. Grants may be available to help with this cost. If available, details on grants will be provided at the orientation.
- Schedule counseling appointment with REACH Housing Counselor. Appointments generally last one hour and are available Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Complete counseling with REACH. Clients must be in counseling for at least 30 days and attend a minimum of 3 one-on-one sessions. The actual number of counseling appointments needed will be decided on an individual basis.
- Meet with the Program Manager to discuss the down payment assistance process.
- Go to the bank and apply for a first mortgage.
- Find a home and sign a purchase contract.
- Schedule a home inspection.
- Obtain homeowner’s insurance.
- Ensure bank has sent appropriate information to REACH and that loan is being processed.
- Receive final approval from REACH.
- Set closing date and close on home.
