| The
REACH Home Program assists people who want to purchase homes in
Fayette County. Through the program, you may be eligible for a forgivable, no-interest
or low-interest loan of $15,000 to be used for down payment
and closing costs. The homes can be located anywhere in Fayette
County and are chosen by the clients, not by REACH. To be eligible for the REACH HOME Program:
- You must be a Fayette County resident for at least one year
prior to purchasing a home.
- You cannot have owned a home within the last three years, unless
you are a displaced homemaker.
- You cannot have filed bankruptcy in the last two years. If
you have filed bankruptcy, it must be discharged for two
years prior to purchasing a home.
- You must meet the debt-income ratio of 33%-41%.
- You must be below the maximum income limit for your family
size.
- You will need a minimum of $500 of personal money for your
part of the bank closing costs.
